The product arrived quickly. The pills are rather large so we had to break them up so it was easier for the cats to swallow.

I bought this item on Dec 29. 2006, and administered it to my three kittens on January 15th, it has been about a month and a half since they had the pill and I’ve just noticed a reoccurence of tapeworms in the one kitten that started out with the worms initially (he contaminated the other two kittens after 2 months of living together). Initially I was thrilled because immediately after giving the pill I haven’t noticed anything until a week ago…I gave it awhile hoping my cat had somehow sit on a grain of rice (wishful thinking i know! lol) but sadly he has those nasty little buggers again. I will say however that my cats never exhibited any of the diarrhea or salivating that was a side effect of the pill. I will give this product one more chance – hopefully nipping it in the bud while the worm is weak (i hope).

We had a terrible time trying to drop these pills in our cats mouth. They are large and don’t slide down very well. Even though we held his mouth closed for over a minute, he spat the remainder of it out every time. Luckily enough of the medicine must have entered his system, because the worms have disappeared. We just wish there was a better way to administer the pills.

Worms are disgusting. One of our cats was starting to over-groom his belly to the point of baldness, we think because of the worms. The “tape worm tabs” required getting one tablet into each cat’s mouth (a dangerous job but thankfully the tablets were small) and then within three days, the gross sesame-seeds were gone. A nice side effect of the pills was the total lethargy that our cats had for a day or two: there was lots and lots of sleeping, purring and cuddling. Then that was followed by a week of off-the-wall bouncing. I guess they felt a lot better!

These work like a charm, but getting your cat to eat it can be difficult! I even tried crushing it and putting it in some tuna…to no avail.

What works for me…wrap 1/2 a tablet up in a piece of soft cheese, like Velveeta. Feed them just one “treat” at a time, and they usually eat it so fast, and come looking for more! Repeat for the rest of the dose, usually 1 tablet total.
